February 29, 2008 - Aqua-Pure Ventures Inc. is pleased to announce the commissioning of Nomad units eight and nine in January. The new Nomads have been put into service for Devon Energy and bring to nine the number of units operating in the Barnett Shale of Texas. Aqua-Pure, through it wholly owned subsidiary, Fountain Quail Water Management LLC processes flowback and produced water in the Barnett Shale area of Texas.
Each unit is capable of processing 2300 bbl/day. The two new units have increased capacity by 28%. To date the Company has processed in excess of five million barrels (210 million gallons) of oilfield wastewater. With the existing units plus those planned for deployment this year the Company expects to recycle an additional 7 to 8 million barrels in 2008.
The demand for recycling water for the Barnett Shale continues to grow and the Company intends to have 15 to 19 units deployed by year-end. Exiting the year with 19 units would give the Company an annual capacity to process 13 million barrels per year after allowing for down time for maintenance. This capacity would meet an estimated 13% of the current demand for recycling in the Barnett Shale alone.
The Company is actively exploring opportunities for deployment of it's technology in other shale plays in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and throughout North America.
